The Walker School is a nonsectarian, co-educational independent day school serving preschool through twelfth grade students in Marietta, Georgia. Walker seeks an energetic and dedicated individual for an Upper School Social Studies position beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. The ideal candidate will be capable of teaching across multiple Social Studies disciplines (i.e. world history, US history, government, economics, or psychology). The teaching load is five sections with no more than three preparations along with grade level advising. Total student contact will be between 70 and 100. Preference will be given to candidates interested in contributing to the full life of the school through coaching and/or through teaching in another discipline, particularly English.
While a Master’s degree is not required, advanced course work and teaching experience are preferred. Salary is based on degrees earned and years of experience and is commensurate with other independent schools in the area.
