Spring Coaching Opportunity
Assistant Varsity Boys Soccer Coach
Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for an assistant varsity boys soccer coach for the spring 2017 season. The season begins Monday, February 27 and concludes at the latest on Saturday, May 27. Required preseason coaches meetings will be held Monday, February 13, 3:30 – 7:00 PM.
The assistant varsity boys soccer coach, reporting to the boys soccer program head, joins an athletics program that includes 23 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. The boys soccer program includes two teams at the Upper School and at least one team at every grade level at the Middle School. The assistant varsity boys soccer coach will be responsible for coaching duties with the varsity team, as well as other program-wide duties as assigned by the boys soccer program head. Specific responsibilities include:
- Compliance with all Lakeside School, Metro League, and WIAA policies and procedures;
- Supervision and instruction of soccer student-athletes during all team activities;
- Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel;
- Attendance at required soccer program and interscholastic athletics program meetings;
- Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes; and
- Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Successful candidates must be 19 years of age, possess a valid Washington State driver’s license, and be available for all practices and competitions from 3:00 PM daily during their coaching season with availability on weekends as required. Experience coaching soccer at the club, middle school, high school or college level is preferred, but not required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid and CPR certification.
