The Walker School (Walker) is a nonsectarian, co-educational independent day school serving three year olds through twelfth grade in Marietta, Georgia. The school was founded in 1957 and currently enrolls approximately 930 students. Walker seeks a highly skilled, dedicated, experienced individual for a full time Assistant Head of Lower School position for the 2017-2018 school year.
Walker’s Assistant Head of Lower School supports current students in grades one through five, engages with our Lower School parent body, and serves as a faculty leader on the Lower School leadership team (alongside the head, counselor, and learning specialist).
A strong background in early childhood education—including but not limited to curriculum development, program management, faculty evaluation and development, and 21st century pedagogy—will be essential. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, experience teaching Lower School students, and proven success in a leadership position (team leader, curriculum coordinator, department chair, or other administrative leadership).
