The Walker School (Walker) is a nonsectarian, co-educational independent day school serving three year olds through twelfth grade in Marietta, Georgia. The school was founded in 1957 and currently enrolls approximately 930 students. Walker seeks a highly skilled, dedicated, experienced individual for a full time Middle School Science and Math teaching position for the 2017-2018 school year.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in student-centered, inquiry-based science and math instruction techniques that inspire students to think critically and approach problem-solving with grit. The ideal candidate will also be willing to make a significant commitment to the school community both within the defined school day and beyond, serving both as a student advisor and an extracurricular activity leader (such as Science Olympiad) or athletic coach.
Qualified applicants will have Middle School teaching experience. A Bachelor’s degree or higher with a concentration in a science or math field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Salary is based on degrees earned and years of experience.
