We work with students individually and in groups, by selecting and employing various teaching methods appropriate for language immersion settings. All teachers are responsible for preparing materials and classrooms for activities, including photocopying, laminating, etc.
We invite teachers to promote cross-cultural activities and the dual language immersion program in the school and community. You will be expected to help as a native Spanish-speaker, modeling for students and helping them maximize their learning by utilizing the target language consistently in the classroom
You will work closely with the Head of School to evaluate student progress, support your teaching team and build the elementary program for future years. As a teacher, you will be expected to collaborate with other dual language team members to develop and improve our Spanish Curriculum
You must be someone with exceptional communication skills and a nurturing, supportive approach. Our goal is to guide and support parents through the rich and complex experience of the PYP and immersion program, helping them learn what their children are capable of and how they can best support them in our program.
You will also work collaboratively with PYP colleagues to develop the school's ethos and supportive relationships amongst students of all ages. You will be asked to actively utilize New York City as a resource for learning and to involve your students in sustainable community service projects and experiences.
