Germantown Academy, located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, is seeking qualified, experienced candidates for the position of Middle School History Teacher, beginning August, 2017. This is a 10-month position which offers an excellent array of benefits and a highly competitive salary. The Academy, founded in 1759, is a non-sectarian, coeducational, college preparatory school of more than 1,100 students in Grades PK-12, located in the northwest suburbs of Philadelphia on a campus of 126 acres. Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria:
BA in history or related; Master’s degree in education strongly preferred,
Experience teaching Middle School; experience teaching a range of history topics preferred,
Ability to employ varied methods of instruction and assessment and to integrate new skills and innovative methodologies in the classroom,
Experience providing individual or small group academic support a plus,
Experience with technology instruction a plus,
Ability to serve as an Advisor to 10-12 Middle School students,
Participation in Middle School life in meaningful ways outside the classroom (coaching, leading extracurricular activities, etc.) strongly preferred.
