Phillips Academy seeks to make a continuing appointment for a psychological counselor and wellness educator starting September 1, 2017. This is a full time, 10-month position, housed in the Rebecca M. Sykes Wellness Center and reporting to the Director of Psychological Services. Counseling responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing individual and group counseling to students, supervising graduate school practicum students and pre-doctoral interns, and consulting with students, parents, faculty members and outside providers. Wellness Educator responsibilities include but are not limited to: implementing and teaching wellness programming, advising student groups, and collaborating with other departments to increase wellness education throughout the school community. There may also be an opportunity to teach a psychology elective. Generally the hours worked are 8:30am-5pm Monday through Friday, with additional evening and weekend commitments including shared on-call responsibilities. Housing is provided and involvement in the athletic program is expected. Preferred qualifications include a doctoral degree and three years clinical experience.
