The Nueva School, an internationally recognized, nonprofit, independent day school, has served gifted and talented students since 1967. Today, Nueva serves over 800 students PK–12 and expects to grow to over 950 students in the next few years. Nueva is located in the neighboring towns of Hillsborough and San Mateo, equidistant between San Francisco and Silicon Valley, serving six different counties in the Bay Area of Northern California.
A constructivist school, Nueva is known for its distinctive inquiry-based interdisciplinary studies, project-based learning, and pioneering work in social-emotional learning and design thinking. The Nueva Fund and Alumni Relations Manager will report to the Director of Institutional Advancement and will be responsible for the strategic and tactical execution of the Advancement department’s goals. S/he will plan collaboratively with leadership to maximize potential impact and benefits in critical areas of fundraising, alumni relations, and donor stewardship and recognition. S/he will ensure that Nueva priorities, mission, and stewardship components are reflected in all work.
The Manager will work with senior leadership to develop strategies and implement tactics that will successfully increase philanthropic support from key constituencies. S/he will collaborate with colleagues in Advancement in order to maximize potential and meet department goals and objectives and will work with Nueva’s volunteers to facilitate all meetings, call nights, solicitations, communications, and stewardship related to the Nueva Fund.
A critical member of the Advancement team, the Manager must be hyper-organized, creative, and a doer. S/he must be a proven and excellent volunteer manager and have an adaptable personality. S/he will work closely with the Database Associate to maintain donor files, financial records, and other documentation.
The Manager will help create, implement, and maintain a strong alumni relations program by establishing robust and effective tracking systems. S/he will work with leadership to establish programs that address and satisfy the needs of a new alumni group. S/he will build networking opportunities for alumni and the student body in order to benefit them all through maintenance of the alumni website, coordination of events, social media communications, and an internship program, and generate and execute other ideas as practical.
The Manager will maintain a comprehensive stewardship program that includes acknowledgments, donor signage, gifts, and recognition events.
This is a full-time, salaried, benefited, 12-month position for immediate hire.
