International School of Brooklyn (ISB) is an independent Nursery through 8th grade, International Baccalaureate (IB) and language immersion school (French and Spanish) located in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.
ISB is seeking a fluent Spanish speaking assistant teacher to teach in its Spanish Kindergarten program, leading the class 8 hours a week, along side a second assistant teacher. This teacher will join the current staff starting at the end of January 2017. The primary goal of this role is to help young children develop kindergarten readiness skills around the areas of social emotional growth, thinking skills and emergent literacy skills and number sense. ISB’s Early Childhood program is a holistic play-based program where the social-emotional, cognitive, physical, linguistic, and cultural development of a student are interrelated and have equal value and importance.
Candidates should enjoy creating diverse play and learning experiences designed to nurture the development of the whole child, enjoy a strong collaborative work environment, enjoy using a wide array of resources to build rich play and learning experiences, have experience integrating multiple approaches to ensure various learning styles are well supported. Candidates should be skilled to take the lead with lesson planning and implementation and actively participate in collaborating in creating and implementing curriculum studies. Candidates need to have at least two years teaching experience in early childhood and must be native Spanish speaking with fluency in English
