Founded in 1886, The White Mountain School, a co-educational, independent boarding school seeks an experienced admission professional for the position of Director of Admission. Situated on 250 acres, The White Mountain School is located in the heart of the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire and 2 ½ hours from Boston. Serving 125 students in grades 9 through Post Graduate, students come from 20 states and 10 countries. The White Mountain mission statement reads: "We are a school of inquiry and engagement. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Admission manages a staff of 4, is a member of the Administrative Team, and works closely with the Board of Trustees. The overall goal for the Director is to build on the Admission Office’s strengths (in recent years inquiries, applications, and yield have all been on the rise), to provide leadership and implement a strategic enrollment vision of a school that is academically rich and grounded in the beautiful setting in the mountains. The Director of Admission plays a vital role in the White Mountain community and will be expected to strengthen the enrollment management infrastructure by implementing strategies to ensure that the Office achieves the enrollment goals set by the Board of Trustees and Head of School. A financial aid budget of $2.5 million supports the fulfillment of these goals.
Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree (Masters degree preferred), five years of admission and financial aid experience, and a strong commitment to boarding school education. In addition, one must be a team player and possess superior communication, interpersonal, organizational and managerial skills, high energy, flexibility, warmth, and a sense of humor.
