Capitol Hill Day School seeks a full-time Spanish teacher for pre-kindergarten through 8th grades. Teaching and learning at Capitol Hill Day School is rooted in a Progressive Education tradition. The School has an experiential approach to education, apparent through hands-on classroom activities that stress in-depth inquiry and discovery, and an extensive field education program where students take trips related to topics of study. Teachers collaborate with each other in developing, planning, and implementing curriculum; school-wide, they create a spirit of camaraderie through their interactions with students, parents, and other members of the staff. Capitol Hill Day School offers both Spanish and French to students beginning in their pre-kindergarten year and continuing through 8th grade. The School seeks a full-time Spanish teacher for PK- 8th grade. Spanish proficiency is essential and proficiency in both Spanish and French is a definite plus.
Master’s degree and/or or extensive language teaching experience; understanding of child development.
