The Alumnae and Community Engagement Manager is driven to strengthen the mission of Carondelet High School by planning and implementing programs and activities designed to provide service to and cultivate the interest and involvement of Carondelet alumnae and the greater Carondelet community in the plans and future success of the school.
The Manager is responsible for the execution and growth of the alumnae program and works closely with the Alumnae Association board. This position will initiate planned outreach to alumnae through events and sustained, coordinated communication. Additionally, this position works in partnership with the development and communications departments to provide support in the effective use of the database and data analysis in cultivating and stewarding relationships and philanthropic efforts, and in event-related responsibilities.
The Alumnae and Community Engagement Manager works with the dynamic and fast-paced Development and Communications teams in addition to maintaining a collaborative relationship with the Assistant to the President, school and administrative staffs, and faculty.
Design and implement multi-faceted alumnae programming with clear goals and objectives
Set and meet measurable goals through effective plan implementation that builds annual alumnae support defines as both financial and volunteer
Organize and implement effective volunteer recruitment, motivation and management
Cultivate, manage and foster positive relationships with and among alumnae
Utilize data base management and research skills to assist in building individual profiles that improve engagement and support gift recording, acknowledgement, and stewardship
Articulate the story of our alumnae by producing materials as well as providing content for print, web, social media and email communication
Ability to prioritize and advance a large number of complex projects simultaneously
High degree of customer service, even when presented with the unexpected
Ability to deliver on goals within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Problem-solving ability to manage the unexpected and adhere to effective event planning timelines to ensure deadlines are met
Self-motivated, pro-active person with a track record of taking projects and events from concept to excellent delivery
Collaborative team approach to supporting colleagues with projects and events such as Visions of Christmas, Nothing But Net for Carondelet and the Swing for Science Golf Tournament
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels in the organization and with external contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
Fosters a community spirit consistent with the Carondelet Mission and Core Values through all interactions with volunteers, parents, alumnae, alumnae parents, individual donors, and all other donor constituent groups, requires focusing on the school’s mission, philosophy and core values at all times.
Some travel will be required from time to time
Technical/Management/Professional Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
3-5 years of experience including development, alumni relations, or event planning; non-profit experience is preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and web-based research; ability to learn new software programs quickly
Experience with databases, CRM, and fundraising platforms such as Raiser’s Edge and Greater Giving
Excellent time management and attention to detail
Excellent writing and public speaking skills
Possesses tact and diplomacy regarding confidential information
Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance. Must have ability to use one’s own vehicle (mileage is reimbursed)
