Allendale Columbia, a diverse, co-educational, college prep independent school serving over 400 students in grades nursery through twelve, seeks an Innovation Strategist to develop and execute suitable business models to find revenue streams for programs beyond the School’s core mission. Based on reports and market insights, the ideal candidate would define which path the School has to follow to generate a consistent form of alternative revenue for the short term and the long term. The candidate for this position must have equal parts strategic capacity and operational acumen and should be effective at collaborating and executing with teams throughout the organization.
The Innovation Strategist plays a vital new role in the Allendale Columbia School community. Reporting to the Assistant Head of School, he/she will design business models and execute strategies for new revenue streams. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who successfully identifies needs and designs corresponding models for revenue-generating programs year-round at the School. In order to ensure that Allendale Columbia School is on the leading edge of educational practices and its core mission, new revenue streams are expected as early as the Fall of 2017.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate all current operations and programs to determine their profitability;
- Analyze the Rochester market and identify new a la carte options and services that AC could develop for a reasonable and timely return on investment;
- Develop business plans, generate new programs, and expand the use of facilities in order to create a sustainable source of alternative revenue for AC; and
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to provide business design support for those currently running programs or those who desire to run programs that provide alternative revenue for the school.
Job requirements include:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Business, Entrepreneurship, Business Development, or Finance.
In addition, experience designing and executing business models with noteworthy ROI is important. The ability to manage personnel with diverse backgrounds and execute all duties with demonstrated sensitivity, and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, and ethnic backgrounds of the AC community.
