Summer at Park brings the values and mission of the School alive during the summer months to a broad group of students ages 4 to 15. With our variety of programming in 1- and 2-week sessions and extended day, the possibilities are endless. The Summer & Auxiliary Programs Accountant is a member of the school’s administrative staff and reports to the Director of Finance. This 12-month position is part time (4 days per week and benefits eligible) and is responsible for reconciling and managing the reporting for four of the School’s programs: Summer at Park, Swim & Tennis, Creative Arts at Park, and After School. The ideal candidate will bring a history of motivation and independent work ethic, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconcile revenue of summer programs with the Director of Finance monthly
Oversee expense management of summer and auxiliary programs
Reconcile cash and credit card monthly for summer and auxiliary programs
Collaborate with the programming leadership team and the Director of Finance to develop the annual budget for summer and auxiliary programs
Manage financial aid applications for summer programs and work with the summer programming leadership team to allocate awards
Deposit checks and cash with remote deposit functionality in the Business Office
Execute refunds, cancellations, financial aid, discounts and scholarships/auction winners
Work in collaboration with the summer programming leadership team to manage the financial reporting capabilities of Camp Brain
Serve as the primary point of contact with gateway and merchant provider for all online transactions
Conduct benchmarking research regarding fees and cost structure
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with parents and donors
Demonstrated experience in a culturally diverse community including including diversity of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, language and gender identity
Applicant must possess strong program management, leadership, people and team-building skills as well as effective organization and communication skills
Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience
Proficient with accounting software, Camp Brain and/or Blackbaud preferred
Basic computer competencies in Google Apps for Education, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and database management are required
Ability to work independently with limited oversight
