Summer at Park brings the values and mission of the School alive during the summer months to a broad group of students ages 4 to 15. With our variety of programming in 1- and 2-week sessions and extended day, the possibilities are endless. The Summer at Park & Auxiliary Programs Coordinator is a member of the school’s administrative staff and reports to the Director of External Programs. This full time, 12 month position is responsible for collaborating with the Director of External Programs to develop and execute exciting programming during the summer and throughout the school year in support of the school’s mission and curricular goals. The ideal candidate will bring a history of collaborative, self-directed work as well as entrepreneurial spirit.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with Director of External Programs to develop and evolve excellent programming
Oversee all Summer at Park registration including camp and pool including paper and online registration and all subsequent changes (including guest passes for pool)
Guide families through the enrollment process for Summer at Park including meeting with prospective camp families and providing tours
Collaborate with the Summer at Park team to allocate financial aid awards
Coordinate with School leadership to manage existing auxiliary programs throughout the academic school year and develop new programs in alignment with the School’s mission
Oversee marketing and advertising for Summer at Park and auxiliary programs
Assist the Director of External Programs with hiring summer camp staff
Oversee logistical planning for Summer at Park including:
Determining groups of campers
Planning field trips
Scheduling school visitors
Procure supply orders for each camp based on the needs of the program directors
Manage the accreditation process for Summer at Park
Manage human resources for Summer at Park:
Manage employment records for Summer at Park staff
Maintain the staff manual and camp procedures
Plan and execute two full staff orientations (camp and pool)
Liaise with camp nurse(s) to ensure all medical paperwork is received and current
Build relationships with faculty and staff across all departments at Park
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with parents and donors
Demonstrated experience in a culturally diverse community including diversity of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, language and gender identity
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and function well in a fast pace environment
Applicant must possess strong program management, leadership, people and team-building skills as well as effective organization and communication skills
Must be energetic and enthusiastic about participating in outdoor activities
Must be able to navigate a multi-building campus in all weather conditions
Must be able to bend, kneel, reach, lift and stand for long periods of time
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience
Experience working at a camp preferred
Proficient with social media, basic computer competencies in Google Apps for Education, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and database management are required
Ability to work independently with limited oversight
