This is a full-time position beginning in mid-April and continuing through the end of the school year. The primary responsibilities include teaching four middle school math classes, two Sixth Grade math courses, one Pre-Algebra course and a Bridge to Algebra course. The substitute will serve as a Sixth Grade Advisor to ten students and fulfill the duties of the full-time teacher. As a dedicated professional, the substitute will be expected to develop daily lessons and various assessments, complete grading, assist with a student committee as well as perform all basic administrative duties (ex. maintain attendance records, accurate grade book, comment writing, duties). Additionally, the substitute will be required, on a limited basis, to be on duty after regular school hours beyond the normal school day.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in the mathematics or a closely related field (advanced degree preferred). The candidate must have strong interpersonal communications skills and solid technology skills for use in instructional and professional tasks. Knowledge of Quaker history and education is desirable, but not required.
