Hackley School seeks a full-time Learning Specialist for grades 5-12 for the 2017-2018 school year.
The Learning Specialist will develop, implement and oversee academic support plans for students with diagnosed learning differences and/or those who are facing significant academic challenges, while also serving as a resource for Middle and Upper School teachers, deans, advisors, and families in the identification and coordination of appropriate learning and study support for students. As a member of the Support Services Department, the Learning Specialist will be integral to a team-based approach aimed at helping students understand themselves as learners, developing their academic skills and fostering self-advocacy regarding their learning needs.
The Learning Specialist will report to the Director of Support Services.
The successful candidate will have at least five years experience working with middle and high school students, a relevant graduate degree, preferably in the area of Learning Disabilities, Special Education or a related field, and a comprehensive understanding of neuropsychological testing and cognitive development. Compensation is competitive based on qualifications and experience, and may include housing and tuition remission.
