Upper and Middle School Choir, Part-time
Berkeley Carroll is a Pre-K through grade 12 college preparatory school of 968 students located in the Park Slope section of New York City. Our vibrant intellectual community draws students from all over the city, admission to the school is competitive, and both our parents and students value achievement.
The school seeks a dynamic music educator to direct our upper and middle school choirs, and to teach voice class in our middle school. The ideal candidate will have experience with students at either or both of these levels; knowledge of varied choral literature at these levels; and experience leading large choirs, smaller groups, and vocal music classes. This is a part-time position, requiring the flexibility to follow our 8-day cycle.
The ability to collaborate with colleagues in the department and in the wider school community is essential. Collegiality and a commitment to personal and professional growth in a supportive community that strives to honor diversity in every aspect are vital qualities. A bachelor's degree in music or music education is required and an advanced degree in music or music education is preferred.
