Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be a master educator who displays passion for teaching journalism and yearbook; other responsibilities and competencies include:
Teaching 1 section of Journalism - Newspaper
Teaching 1 section of Yearbook
Teaching 2 other related electives TBD with input by candidate and department chair based on skill-set and passion
Managing entire school’s relationship with Strawbridge Studios (scheduling photo dates for school events and individual photos for students/faculty/staff; managing distribution of photos; handling communication with studio representatives)
Connecting with students, challenging them, and working with students with diverse backgrounds and perspectives
Advising 10-12 students and facilitating the integration of our “Lead from Here” curriculum
Demonstrating effective technology skills, including the ability to use our learning management system (Veracross)
Serving on committees and/or leading an active student club or coaching
Demonstrating a growth mindset and the ability to receive feedback, adapt to different learners’ needs, and become a valued colleague in a strong and cohesive English department
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or a related field; MA or MEd highly desirable.
