To ensure timely, accurate transmittal and acknowledgment of gifts to the school. To partner with colleagues on enforcement of the school’s Fundraising & Gift Policy and to provide support for the Development Office in all its fundraising activities. To partner with the school’s Business Office on monthly and year-end reconciliations related to fundraising activities.
Gift Management (60%)
The DAGR is responsible for all gift entry to Moses Brown School, including receiving and transmittal of all gifts and pledges to Moses Brown in a timely, accurate manner, following the school’s Fundraising & Gift Policy. This position will generate all personalized receipts and gift acknowledgments under the signature of the Assistant Head of School for Institutional Affairs and the Head of School. The DAGR manages the bi-annual pledge reminder process and also works closely with the Business Office on all monthly and annual reconciliations.
This position is responsible for all gift reporting, including weekly and monthly snapshots as well as annual benchmarking reports through national and association giving surveys. Each year, the DAGR assumes responsibility for the accuracy of the donor list in the annual report. Additionally, this position is responsible for miscellaneous reports as needed for specific fundraising projects.
Gift Accounting Management (15%)
The DAGR is responsible for the proper allocation, coding and management of new funds. The DAGR works with the Associate Director of Development to enforce MB’s Fundraising & Gift Policy. Also, the DAGR oversees the storage (both hardcopy and electronic) of all donor and gift records. The DAGR also manages the online giving page and works with the Business Office to provide required information for the school’s annual audit.
Support of Overall Development and Alumni Relations Programs and Events (10%)
The DAGR will also support various special projects as assigned and will be expected to work occasional nights and weekends to support major school events.
Moses Brown School has a student body of 775+ students from nursery through 12th grade, represented by approximately 600 families. Moses Brown School began its historic fundraising campaign, MB Believes in 2013 with a goal of $56.5 million. As of Dec. 31, 2016, over $36 million has been raised from more than 2,700 donors. The DAGR processes, on average, over 2,000 gift transactions each year.
Moses Brown is committed to upholding best practices for gift acceptance and acknowledgment. In preparation for expanded fundraising efforts and external outreach within the fundraising Campaign, Moses Brown must improve its ability to deliver timely, consistent and effective gift acknowledgment at all levels. This position is central to our ability to improve the timeliness of standardized communications, including gift receipting and acknowledgment.
Contacts require strict confidentiality and sensitivity; must demonstrate a collegial attitude and interest in solving problems. The DAGR will have regular contact with our entire staff as well as colleagues in other offices around the school including the Business Office, Communications, Head of School’s office and the administrative offices of each division.
