The Dalton School seeks a qualified librarian to plan, develop, and administer the library program to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Dalton Library within established guidelines and procedures. The Librarian will provide the leadership and expertise necessary to ensure that the library program is an integral part of the instructional program of the school.
Masters of Library/Information Sciences with a concentration in School Librarianship from an accredited program
Teacher training preferred
information literacy skill for children and adolescents
research as applied to educational practices, and the use of educational media and library services,
print (books, magazines, etc.) and non-print (e-books, audio collections, DVD’s, etc.) collection development for children and adolescents,
research methodology, and
library programming and services for children and adolescents.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff to plan, develop, and implement a high level of student services and programs.
Ability to explain and promote information literacy and the school library program.
