Congressional School has an opportunity for a Human Resources Manager who will be responsible for the human resource function for all school employees and serve as an internal consultant and principal liaison for faculty and staff with regard to human resources policies, procedures, and practices. The Human Resources Manager will manage recruitment efforts, employee benefits, compensation structures, employee relations, payroll, personnel policies, record keeping and compliance. The Human Resources Manager will be detail oriented, motivated and flexible; exhibit integrity and discretion; and work collaboratively with colleagues and other constituents. The Human Resources Manager will be a strong team player and have the ability and desire to work tactically and strategically, as necessary.
Responsibilities include providing high-level counsel on human resources organizational, policy, and performance issues, aligning recommendations with Congressional’s mission, vision, and values; ensuring compliance with governmental and accrediting agencies; and participating in school-wide initiatives to improve human resource systems, upgrade the services provided to employees and expand the pool of high quality employees. Additionally, the Human Resources Manager will manage the hiring and appointment processes for all classes of employees, including assisting hiring managers and search committees to develop positions, write job descriptions, request appropriate salary levels, define and implement recruitment plans, conduct searches and select final candidate; administer employee benefit programs including retirement plans, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, etc.; oversee the employment performance evaluation process and tracks related salary implications; and provide managerial leadership in administrative affairs, including coaching supervisors, counseling employees and providing forums for communication and conflict resolution as needed.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline and 5 years’ experience in Human Resources. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred. Candidates must possess the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
