Friends' is seeking a dedicated, organized, and engaging Program Manager for our Teacher Preparation Program (TPP). The main areas of focus for this position include relationship building with teacher candidates and partner school staff, liaising between the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and the University of Colorado Denver (UCD), managing the admissions process, and assisting with general support of the Program, including presenting seminar topics to the Teacher Candidates.
Reporting to the Program Director, this position represents the mission, philosophy, and values of Friends’ School in interactions with Teacher Candidates (TCs) and partner school staff. The school seeks a self-motivated professional who is personable, dependable, organized, hands-on and thrives on juggling multiple priorities, as well as achieves to a high standard while maintaining great attention to detail.
General support of the program, such as collection and dissemination of information to TCs, maintaining data on current and alumni TCs
Teach and lead seminar sessions in areas of expertise
Advise TCs in the classroom by observing and providing feedback on practice
Maintain positive relationships with Friends’ staff, TCs, partnership schools’ staff, CDE and UCD
Coordinate admissions, licensure and program paperwork with partner schools, TCs, UCD, and CDE
Manage admissions process for the program and assist TCs with the process
Update online TC portal, Facebook page, etc.
Answer inquiries about the TPP, licensure, the Master’s program, and the admissions process specifically
Maintain evaluation and assessment systems of the program
Meet with and update Head of School about the TPP on a monthly basis and as needed
Gather information for TCs related to job search
Professional and Personal Qualifications:
Master level teacher who has experience at the elementary and/or preschool level, public school teaching experience is preferred but not required
Talent for working with numerous personalities and a passion for progressive education
2+ years administrative or related experience in a non-profit organization or educational institution preferred
Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree in a related field preferred
Excellent writing and public speaking skills
Proven ability to work in a team environment, develop effective interpersonal relationships, and provide superior service
Possess integrity and honesty
Strong organizational skills
Outgoing and engaging personality, with a good sense of humor, positive outlook and flexibility
Proficiency in data collection and organization
Knowledge of appropriate software, technology, and social media tools
