Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts about 15 miles north of Boston, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Admissions. The position offers a flexible start date, but not later than June 1, 2017. Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is an independent co-ed Catholic school in the Augustinian tradition for students in grades 6-12. There are 740 students enrolled in the school. The Director of Admissions is an integral part of the school’s leadership team and is responsible for managing all facets of the admissions process in the school’s effort to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse and dynamic student population. The Director of Admissions reports directly to the Assistant Headmaster for External Affairs. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.

A bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred, and five to seven years of experience in education, preferably in admissions. Fluency with independent school culture, procedures, and practices in an independent, day/ boarding, college preparatory setting is essential.
At times, travel to meet with various school constituents and work during evenings and weekends are necessary. The candidate must be able to work with a wide range of individuals and possess exceptional communication and organizational skills. Initiative and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively are important.
