Dwight School is seeking a PART TIME Middle and Upper School Visual Arts Teacher for the 2017-2018 academic year. This position has two components: 1. Developing and sustaining an after-school visual arts program and 2. Teaching middle school and/or high school visual arts classes (afternoon only).
The ideal candidate would meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary (grades 6-12) Visual Arts Education required
Master’s Degree in Secondary (grades 6-12) Visual Arts Education strongly recommended
Experience with developing and maintaining an after-school art program strongly recommended
At least two years’ prior teaching experience in a Middle and/or Upper School setting
A record of success teaching to a range of learners
Experience with thoughtful technology integration in a Visual Arts class strongly recommended
Experience with International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program and Diploma Program preferred, but not required
Experience with organizing and executing a full school visual arts exhibitions preferred, but not required
