NSU University School is a JK-12, college-preparatory school serving approximately 1,800 students on the larger NSU campus in South Florida.
We seek an Upper School Computer Science Teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. The successful applicant will be comfortable teaching AP Computer Science A and AP Principles of Computer Science and coding. Ideally looking for someone who is responsible for designing an age-appropriate but challenging and innovative computer science/computational thinking (CS/CT) curriculum. Other responsibilities will depend on the skills and interests of the candidate
Preferred qualifications for this teaching position include:
Confidence in ability to teach computer science
At least three years’ experience teaching students in grades 9-12
Experience in design theory, formative assessment, and UbD curriculum creation
Innovation, organization, and leadership skills
Use a variety of teaching strategies and encourage risk-taking in learning
Desire to guide and inspire high school students
Skills to build a JK-12 Computer Science Program
This position requires a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field. 1-3 years of relevant computer science teaching experience at the middle and/or high school levels is ideal although industry experience will also be considered.
