Vail Mountain School seeks an engaging, experienced 6th grade Humanities teacher. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in an independent school setting with a demonstrated commitment to student-centered learning. Experience teaching ancient civilizations and familiarity with the Lucy Calkins writing curriculum preferred. The ability to connect with and communicate well with students, colleagues and parents is critical. Candidates should have an interest in and experience with outdoor education such as hut trips, alpine skiing, hiking, etc. Enthusiasm about being a part of the VMS community is a must.
Required qualifications: bachelor's degree. Preferred qualifications: three years of teaching experience; master’s degree.
