This is a full-time position with benefits, to start July 1, 2017. George Stevens Academy is an independent Town Academy enrolling 280 day students and 50 residential students.
Student Life programming at GSA aims to enable students to grow as people and as community members, and be successful learners. The Dean of Students is responsible for ensuring this happens through oversight of all aspects of GSA programming directly related to student experience outside the classroom. The Dean of Students reports to the Assistant Head of School.
Chief responsibilities include:
Supervise student conduct and enforce conduct rules and procedures.
Monitor student attendance and troubleshoot attendance issues.
Oversee the advisory program.
Create and carry out programs that foster school spirit and community involvement.
Plan and run new student orientation.
Advise Student Council
Oversee clubs and activities
Be a member of the Senior Administrative Team
Possibly teach one class
