The school counselor will provide a comprehensive counseling program for all students. This individual will collaborate with teachers, staff and parents to enhance student’s social, emotional and academic success. The school counselor will demonstrate flexibility and compassion and be able to successfully work across all divisions. The school counselor will act as an advocate for all students and adhere to ethical and legal professional standards. A Master’s degree from an accredited College or University in Counseling or related Mental Health field is required. Maclay School is a private, independent, non-sectarian college preparatory school located on 100 beautiful acres in northeast Leon County, Florida, about ten miles north of the state capitol building. A group of parents found...ed the school in 1968 naming it in memory of Alfred B. Maclay, Jr., a World War II veteran whose mother was a major benefactor. The 2016-17 school year will be the 49th year for Maclay, now under the leadership of James Milford who is in his third year as Head of School.
