Teacher of Civics, Geography, and History—Middle School (Grades 7 and 8)
Founded by George Washington Copp Noble in 1866, Noble and Greenough School is a rigorous academic community dedicated to motivating and inspiring students to achieve their highest potential and to lead lives characterized by service to others. A co-educational, non-sectarian day and boarding school for students in grades seven (Class VI) through twelve (Class I), Nobles has a current enrollment of just over 600 students–including approximately 50 five-day boarders.
Nobles seeks an experienced teacher of Civics, Geography, and History for a position in our Middle School. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, at least three to five years of experience teaching middle school, and a passion for working with middle-school-aged students. A BA is required; an MA with an appropriate focus is preferred. In addition to teaching in the Pratt Middle School, the successful candidate will serve as a leader, mentor, director, or coach in Nobles’ afternoon program at some point during the academic year.
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic History and Social Sciences Department and to serve with middle-school faculty who value the teaching of skill development, pedagogical innovation, and fostering positive student-teacher relationships.
We seek candidates who would bring a desire for ongoing professional improvement, a diversity of backgrounds and experiences, and a demonstrated commitment to young people.
