St. John’s Prep, a Catholic, Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School for young men in grades 6 through 12, seeks a highly professional, entrepreneurial and motivated individual for the position of Director of Parent Engagement and Giving
Reporting to and in partnership with the Managing Director of Development, the Director of Parent Engagement and Giving is responsible for generating significant revenue through a comprehensive parent leadership gifts program. The Director of Parent Engagement and Giving will be responsible for engaging across the parent community (current parents, past parents and grandparents) using a multifaceted solicitation, programming and communication strategy of his/her own design. The ideal candidate will have experience and a record of success in all aspects of institutional advancement, as well as a desire to become part of a collegial team committed to advancing St. John’s Prep and the success of its current comprehensive Campaign for GOOD.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Increase parent participation at the leadership level of giving ($25,000+) by developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to engage, solicit and steward leadership parent prospects;
Manage a portfolio of approximately 170 parent prospects and donors;
Collaborate on specific parent-focused events and programs;
Work closely with staff responsible for data entry, gift processing and financial reporting;
Collaborate with Advancement colleagues to increase overall philanthropy at St. John’s Prep including the school’s ongoing comprehensive Campaign for GOOD;
Interact regularly with members of the faculty and staff to promote Advancement efforts;
Other duties as requested.
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree a plus
Six-plus years experience in institutional advancement
Experience cultivating and soliciting donors for five-, six- and seven-figure gifts
Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
Experience with data collection and analytics, specifically using Raiser's Edge
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
