The Greenwich Country Day School seeks a Head Teacher - Grade 3 to join our Lower School team.
Lower School Head Teacher - 3rd Grade Classroom
Job Responsibilities Include:
Lesson planning and teaching of the mapped curriculum
Selecting appropriate materials and resources to enhance curriculum
Regular communication with parents and administration
Assessment of all students’ progress in both written and verbal reports
Coordinating DLP recommendations
Supervising students on the playground, hosting a lunch table
Maintaining neatness, organization, and decoration of classroom
Mentoring assigned co-teacher/ utilizing him or her effectively to enhance classroom environment
Master’s Degree preferred; Bachelor’s required
Relevant coursework in elementary education
Minimum experience of 3 years working with children this age
Ability to develop trusting, supportive relationships with students
Dedication to and belief in the philosophy and values of GCDS
Ability to work as member of the grade-level team
Willingness to take on multiple roles within the school
Openness to professional and personal growth
Creativity, flexibility, and patience
Ability to communicate clearly
Must have an inexhaustible source of energy and sense of humor
