Cape Cod Academy, an independent PreK-12 grade day school in Osterville, MA, seeks a leader with the experience, vision, and ambition to help us further evolve the whole grades 6-12 middle and upper schools experience. The Dean of Students will report to the Head of School.
In a newly re-structured role, the new Dean will be one of two or possibly three primary leaders across the middle and upper schools, two divisions that have distinct programs but significant overlap of faculty, spaces, events, and community time for the combined 150-175 students and 25 faculty. A strong candidate for the US Dean’s role could bring particular strengths on the side of promoting and shaping school culture and student life; alternatively, a candidate for Academic Dean (or possibly Associate head) might have greater strengths in the areas of grades 6-12 programmatic design, curriculum, pedagogy, and leadership of faculty. We have a good team of administrative and faculty leaders that can adjust their existing roles to create the right leadership collaboration and division of responsibilities. The Dean(s) will also teach one or two classes in his or her discipline.
We are looking for a person who will lead with energy, humor, compassion, high standards, and an uplifting spirit. We are shaping a faculty and leadership team that has a respect and affection for our existing principles and culture of learning but also a desire to make the school even stronger. As a small school, we are able and ready to embrace change fairly quickly with the right kind of leadership and shared vision.
Master's degree and successful experience with leadership roles in independent school required. Please submit cover letter and resume to Tom Trigg, Head of School, via email@example.com.
