The Packer Collegiate Institute seeks a passionate, experienced, and knowledgeable Science Teacher for the Preschool and Lower School.
Through extensive collaboration, Packer’s two Pre and Lower School science teachers connect student learning in the science lab to the world around them. Using a child-centered, inquiry-based and hands-on model, the teachers design relevant, stimulating, and challenging investigations that develop student skills and ability to problem solve, work collaboratively, and think critically. Packer’s LS science program emphasizes the development of scientific literacy and depth of understanding rather than the accumulation of scientific facts.
Ideal candidates must have a collaborative spirit, strong understanding of child development and scientific concepts, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to curriculum development and continued professional development. Requirements include: a master's degree in Early Childhood, Elementary, or Science Education; a minimum of three years of experience teaching preschool or lower school students; experience with designing science curriculum; and a passion for developing a love of science in young children.
In addition, Packer’s comprehensive commitment to diversity requires of all faculty members active, thoughtful engagement in work around identity, equity, and inclusion. We actively encourage applications from candidates with broad and diverse backgrounds.
Please send resume and cover letter to hr@Packer.edu with "LS Science" in the subject line of the email.
