The Alumni Relations Manager is a nonexempt position that supports the efforts of the Development team. Their focus is on engaging the LJCDS alumni and maintaining/cultivating long-lasting relationships with alumni. This individual will plan and execute a variety of alumni events on campus and across the country.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assume, identify and develop all administrative functions of managing the current and future alumni activities
Develop and manage an information tracking system, to improve amount and accuracy of data
Cultivate and develop an alumni leadership board
Support stewardship and cultivation events; serve as school’s logistical and planning coordinator for all annual alumni events (i.e. Homecoming, Career Day and Reunions)
Identify alumni with interest and capacity for fundraising asks
Lay the ground work for fundraising campaign
Update and maintain website information pertaining to alumni
Collaborate with faculty and staff on ideas for outreach to individuals and classes
Develop and implement an annual outreach and engagement plan for graduating seniors
Support department-wide development programs and objectives
Steward and engage alumni through school activities, social media, mailings and other communication methods as needed
Maintain our alumni platform
Manage the alumni operating budget
Some evening and weekends required
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Fundraising or similar fields
Experience in event planning from conception to facilitation
Minimum of 3 years of development and/or fundraising experience is a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising database, social networking sites, Constant Contact or similar email marketing system
Basic graphic design skills are preferable
Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
