St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Part-Time Middle School Mathematics Support Specialist. This is a .50 FTE position (school day hours approximately 11:30 am - 3:30 pm) beginning in August, 2017. Candidates should bring experience teaching middle school mathematics, to include at a minimum pre-Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra Level I. Training and experience in Math in Focus or Singapore Math preferred. The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues is critical; this position resides within the Center for Teaching and Learning and requires effective collaboration with classroom teachers. Responsibilities include co-teaching in one classroom setting per day in addition to planning and providing small group, remedial support lessons for students. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to create developmentally appropriate curricula, to establish a supportive and engaging classroom environment for students, and to bring experience in differentiated approaches to support student needs. Successful candidates will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates should support the mission of SPA and the vision of the Middle School.
