Job Title: Dean of External Affairs
Reports To: Head of School, MacDuffie Granby
Summary: Support the organization's External Affairs objectives by controlling the operations of all satellite locations that are overseen by The MacDuffie School. This position will based out of Granby, MA, but will spend approximately six months per year working on site at the school locations in China.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Acts as representative of the Head of School for MacDuffie in all matters in partner schools, in China and elsewhere.
Oversees external relations with partner schools, ensuring The MacDuffie School and its mission are properly represented:
- protection of brand
- implementation of curriculum, quality control and accountability
- staffing and training
- Academic, extracurricular, and leadership programming
- Safety and security
Utilizes The MacDuffie School Strategic Map, working with partner schools to create individual KPIs within the framework.
Expected to split time roughly 50-50 between MacDuffie (learning the culture) and partner schools (implementing).
Proven track record of progressively responsible management and leadership in external engagement strategies.
Strong interpersonal skills and organizational abilities. Able to “influence without authority” colleagues in partner schools, in order to meet deadlines.
Proven experience and success in managing responsibilities and projects simultaneously.
Ability to identify and analyze issues, and develop alternative courses of action using creativity and problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication with both internal and external constituents, strong public speaking and presentation skills.
An innovative, strategic planner and critical thinker who can see and seize opportunities to advance an organization to a level it has not reached before.

Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent preferred; five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Eligible to work in the United States. Possess previous experience living and working in China . Knowledge in the ELL environment within schools.
