Forsyth Country Day School is seeking an enthusiastic and talented arts educator to join our team of professional and dedicated arts faculty. Candidates should be committed art education professionals with a healthy practice of their own. Forsyth is seeking someone who can potentially teach across Middle and Upper School divisions. There is potential for a teacher to craft curriculum, implementing a variety of mediums within single courses, and in creating course offerings. Forsyth stresses equally a development of technical skill and creative problem solving. Successful art teaching provokes creativity, develops a broader understanding of and curiosity for one’s world, and allows flexible definition for meaning making.
BFA, or BA with major in studio arts, required. MFA, MA Art Education preferred.
2 – 5 years teaching experience. Experience teaching in, or familiarity with, an independent school is beneficial.
Well versed and experienced in a range of 2-D mediums; painting, drawing, printmaking, or design. Sculpture and or ceramics experience a plus.
Familiarity with ADOBE Creative Suite preferred.
