For a position to begin in June or July of 2017, Brookstone School is seeking a proven fundraising professional with high standards, vision, and exceptional skills in institutional advancement.
Brookstone is a highly regarded independent school with a well-articulated mission, an unusually well-rounded educational program, hardworking students, a talented faculty, and engaged parents and volunteers. Debt-free and with a $27 million endowment, Brookstone has solid financial underpinnings. The school takes a conservative annual endowment draw of 4 percent to support the operating budget. Two capital campaigns within the past 15 years raised more than $34 million, funding the construction of a new Upper School and athletic facilities while also providing vital support for faculty and programs. Annual giving reached new heights last year, securing more than $550,000 for the school’s operational budget.
Despite these noteworthy successes, there is still much to accomplish. A new building for the Lower School tops the list of educational needs. Close behind it are much needed improvements to athletic facilities. The oldest gymnasium is in need of major renovations, and a new football stadium is on the wish list. All of these projects are anticipated to be included in a capital campaign that a new Assistant Head for Institutional Advancement will be charged with overseeing.
Brookstone School has retained Collins/MacMillanLLC to conduct the search for its Assistant Head for Institutional Advancement. Confidential inquiries and nominations are welcomed.A complete information packet containing information about the position, the school, and the community is available by request.
