Palm Beach Day Academy, established in 1921, is an independent coeducational school, serving 450 students from age 2 to Grade 9, on two campuses. The Upper Campus, which houses Grades 4-9 seeks a Chinese teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.
Qualified candidates will have three to five years experience teaching Middle and/or Upper School Chinese, preferably in the independent school arena. The ideal candidate will have a mastery of both English and Mandarin Chinese language. Overall, we are seeking a candidate who is flexible, comfortable working in a team setting, and has knowledge of technology integration specific to Chinese language instruction and acquisition.
We value candidates with the ability to teach multiple levels. The department is committed to project-based learning, technological integration, and communicative teaching.
Additional duties typically include advising, coaching, sponsoring a club or activity and participating in faculty meetings and professional development.
Flexibility, creativity, a sense of humor, and a strong work ethic are all critically important.
