Job Title: Groundskeeper
Reports To: Director of Plant Operations
Assists the Director of Plant Operations in providing proactive maintenance and responsive service for repairs and projects for the campus of The MacDuffie School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
Rakes and disposes of leaves.
Cleans grounds and removes litter.
Shovels snow from walks and driveways.
Spreads salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup.
Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and snow removal equipment.
Executes regular maintenance plans for all equipment as developed by the Director of Plant Operations.
Tracks any repair and maintenance invoices and submit for approval to the Director.
As assigned, help maintain the fleet of vehicles.
Sets up and breaks down as needed for school events.
Uses appropriate language, behavior, and appearance and overall conduct with or in the presence of students, staff and vendors according to policies.
Wears appropriate attire, safety and otherwise, for tasks assigned.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
