The HR Generalist will assist the Director of Human Resources in supporting the oversight and administration of all human resources functions including; recruitment, onboarding, training and development, payroll functions, leaves of absence, coordination of all employee related activities and the wellness program. This position requires an extremely versatile person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization and providing excellent customer service skills in responding to the needs of our employees and supporting the director.
Responsible for essential recruitment tasks, including posting job openings, coordination of interviews, scheduling meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR, tracking of applicant pool and diversity
Onboarding of all new employees coordinating all items required for new employee arrival in various departments
Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office, including coordination of Director of HR schedule, setting up meetings and tracking of HR budget.
Onboarding of all new employees coordinating all items required for new employee arrival in various departments : preparing paperwork for new hires including administrative and staff contracts, processing background checks, coordinating physicals and drug testing
Oversee the wellness program, coordinating committee meetings, tracking progress on wellness events and managing the overall effort
Enrolling all new employees in workplace harassment training, tracking progress and completion
Preparing reports for required compensation surveys, FML, and leaves of absences and other regulatory reporting
Serve as back up to payroll and providing review of bi-weekly and monthly payroll
Coordinating all administrative support and tracking related to Department of Transportation Passenger Endorsement, including required drug testing and driver files
H1-B– Coordinating administrative follow through on processing of H1-b Visas
Performance notification, tracking and processing
Record Management - processing and maintaining Human Resources personnel files for all employee classifications, responsible for retention and archiving of all personnel records.
Coordinating departure process with exiting employees
Providing general HR Support to include communication in ENews and administrative support for employee related events
Responding and following up on any HR related questions in a timely manner and providing presence on campus by attending faculty meeting as appropriate and determined by director.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Knowledge
· Ability to work independently, as well as with a wide variety of people
· Ability to recognize and keep confidential all matters of a sensitive nature
· Ability to be flexible, to prioritize effectively, and to meet deadlines
· Two to four years of HR generalist experience.
· Experience in independent school preferred but not required
· Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required.
· SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential or PHR required
