Tilton School seeks an experienced (two-three years in independent schools) and energetic Math teacher with a passion for developing student skills in critical thinking, communication, creative engagement, design thinking and mindfulness. Successful candidates will be committed to their own professional growth, able to teach students of a wide range of ages and ability levels and eager to work with colleagues on the future of high school mathematics. The position includes teaching four or five classes under the supervision of the Math Department Chair. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:
- Outstanding skills in oral and written communication
- An abiding belief that all students can grow and succeed in a rigorous mathematics curriculum
- Experience with Design-Thinking and Problem-Based Learning
Applicants must be able to attend a week-long 1st Year Faculty Workshop in early August.
Other duties include: (1) advising, (2) participation as an athletic coach or activities leader for two seasons each year and (3) active participation in our residential program including, weeknight-weekend supervision.
