Phillips Academy seeks an experienced wellness education designer to continue design and development of a four-year wellness education curriculum through the Empathy and Balance program and residential/advising programming. The successful applicant will focus specifically on health promotion, social-emotional learning, disease and risk prevention, and overall community well-being. In addition, this person will actively support house counselors in dorm-centered educational programming. As such, this will be a housed faculty position. Under the direction of the Dean of Students and in close collaboration with Wellness stakeholders in the Rebecca M. Sykes Wellness Center and Dean of Students office, this position will:
lead the efforts of the empathy and balance course heads to successfully design, implement, and iterate a four-year curriculum
establish a supportive environment for student success and health behavior through house counselor and advisor-led educational initiatives
develop and apply qualitative and quantitative assessments to measure the impact of the empathy and balance course and related programs
engage and cultivate partnerships to address student health needs
apply and evaluate theoretical frameworks and planning models that address individual and community health and support academic and life achievement
A masters or doctorate in health education, community health, public health, nursing, psychology, or social work is preferred in addition to three to five years related experience in an educational and/or healthcare setting developing and implementing high quality health and wellness education.
