Glenelg Country School is seeking a full-time Senior Humanities teacher to lead the senior capstone project and teach elective courses for the 2017/2018 academic year beginning in August. This position involves teaching two sections of the senior capstone course, which culminates in a written thesis, and teaching two elective courses based on the candidate’s expertise and department needs. Candidates should be versed in and comfortable with seminar-style learning and current research methodologies; have excellent writing/editing skills; and they should be interested in the innovative use of technology in the classroom. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 2 - 3 years of teaching experience; value interdisciplinary education; be able to connect with young people of various backgrounds and educational abilities; and demonstrate an interest and ability to collaborate with other teachers in planning and executing courses. Faculty typically teach four or five sections, with two or three preps. Additional coaching, club advising, and campus involvement is expected.
