Hawken School is seeking a Psychologist or other licensed Mental Health professional to be a part of our vibrant Lower School team. The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Support Services team and interact with a broad range of constituents, including, students, faculty, parents, and administrators. Specific responsibilities include:
Partner with Lower School grade-level teams to respond to and manage psychosocial, developmental, and academic referrals for students in grades PS-5
Participate in weekly Support Services and grade-level team meetings to discuss student-progress, evaluation results and recommendations
Offer consultation, brief counseling, personal support, and crisis intervention for students and parents
Facilitate student and teacher discussion groups around areas of social-emotional growth, child development, and identity development
Interpret psycho-educational assessments
Draft and share learning plans with faculty and parents
Perform other duties as assigned by the Lower School Director or Head of School
A master’s or doctorate degree in psychology or related field is required. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, preferably in an independent or private school setting. Candidates in private practice who have experience with private school consultation may also be considered. Candidates should also have demonstrated experience working in a diverse community and possess strong cross-cultural competency skills.
