Georgetown Day School seeks a Middle School science teacher for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. Primary responsibilities include teaching four sections of science and serving as an advisor. The ideal candidate will have a background in the natural and physical sciences. Deep knowledge of one’s subject, enthusiasm for teaching middle schoolers, and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues are the hallmarks of the GDS MS faculty. As a diverse, inclusive school devoted to social justice and preparing students to live and work in an increasingly globalized and multicultural society, GDS is particularly interested in professionals with demonstrated interest and experience in working in such a school setting.
Essential qualifications include a B.A. in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics or a related discipline, a concentration in Science education, and significant experience working with early adolescents. A Master’s degree is preferred.
