Randolph School is seeking a full time Social Studies teacher for a Middle School (5-8) position beginning August, 2016.
The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following essential duties:
Integrate the teaching of effective organization and study skills.
Demonstrate effective written and oral communication (parent conferences, written correspondence including narrative reports, website).
Share duties and responsibilities with other members of the Middle School faculty.
Work with the grade level team to address needs of the whole child.
Effectively monitor and manage student learning through the use of a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student progress.
Identify and respond to individual students learning differences and create enrichment opportunities; differentiate instruction to meet the needs of various learners.
Create a supportive and inclusive environment and develop respectful relationships with students by using conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques within the classroom.
Maintain a neat, well-organized classroom.
Use appropriate technology in the classroom.
The teacher will join a vibrant, experienced faculty. The teacher will be expected to be actively involved in the school’s full program which will involve advising, sponsoring clubs, chaperoning field trips, being on faculty committees and attending school events. Interest and ability to contribute to our athletics and extracurricular programs will be a positive asset.
Education qualifications: Bachelor's degree in history or education required. Master’s degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of teaching history preferred.
