THE BEACON SCHOOL, a private day school in Stamford CT, is looking for a very experienced independent school admissions person to come in now and work as a consultant for 6 months to develop a strong strategic enrollment strategy and increase enrollment for this forthcoming school year. The job would be 20 TO 30 hours a week.
Job Responsibilities would be: Oversee life cycle of admissions activities, from client inquiry to post-enrollment activities, for small private school. Develop and execute, with designated leaders, marketing and admissions plans of action to attract and gain potential students. Represent the prospective family’s interests to Beacon School and serve as an ongoing point of contact for all student admissions. •Showcase our School and its capabilities to prospective clients, give tours and lead/facilitate meetings with prospective parents and Head of School. •Create, cultivate and manage database of potential referral sources (professionals who may connect in some way to any of our schools, i.e. psychologists, educational consultants, etc.) •Cultivate relationships with targeted referral sources. •Distribute and review contents of application packet to prospective families. •Coordinate visits for prospective students to shadow classes; follow up with teachers and students/clients after shadow visits to collect feedback and determine next steps re student enrollment. •Draft acceptance letters for students and cover letters with contracts for parents; oversee and manage acceptance package documents.. •Coordinate, with Head of School, all activities related to Admissions Open House (e.g. marketing activities, invitations to placement directors and educational consultants, work with parent association on refreshments and student tour guides). •Create and manage database of prospective students and track interest from inquiry to post-admissions.
Requirements: •Experience with driving private school admissions and marketing agendas •Superb communication skills (verbal, written) •Marketing/media management experience, preferably in an academic environment •Collaborative team player with strong leadership experience •Project management experience
