Upper School Learning Specialist
North Shore Country Day School
North Shore Country Day School, a JK-12 independent school near Chicago, seeks a full-time Upper School Learning Specialist for the 2017-2018 Academic Year. While a bachelor’s degree is required, a master’s degree is strongly preferred. North Shore is eager to consider applications from groups traditionally underrepresented in independent school communities.
We seek candidates with three or more years of experience building strong relationships with a range learners and directing one-on-one sessions that develop student understanding of their learning profile and support their academic and personal skill development. Responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting the professional development of faculty in differentiated instruction, securing standardized testing accommodations for qualifying students, and keeping in regular contact with parents through student progress reports. A full job description listing additional roles and responsibilities will be provided to candidates who make it to the phone interview stage of our search.
Candidates are asked to submit a cover letter specific to the role at North Shore Country Day School, a resume, a written statement detailing their philosophy/approach to their work, and a listing of professional references (it is helpful to know the context in which the reference worked with the candidate and have both email and phone contact information for each reference). All information should be submitted to electronically to email@example.com.
